Longstanding cooperation between Moving and the Swedish Postal Administration
When Karl-Rudolf Pettersson came to the Postal Administration in 1988, he had already been cooperating with Moving for ten years. It is a partner he has since made use of for installations at the Postal Administration's Stockholm terminals.
For several years, Karl-Rudolf Pettersson has been the technical manager for the Postal Administration's Stockholm terminals. When he started twelve years ago, it was as the manager of the future Årsta terminal. He was involved in building it up from the bottom, and the terminal was inaugurated on 15 March 1991.
"I participated in introducing the new mechanical concept that had been adopted by the management of the Postal Administration with our suppliers.
The postal terminal with its new equipment made it possible to close down five sorting terminals in south Stockholm. The terminal rapidly demonstrated the best quality results in Sweden, and this top quality was upheld for a four year period."
Large systems
An example of the technical solutions are the tray conveyors delivered by Moving. The first system was installed at this very same Årsta terminal in 1991. Six years later, the Postal Administration introduced the so-called New Letter System, and the terminal in Tomteboda also received a similar box-conveyor system.
Up to Karl-Rudolf Pettersson's retirement, he was responsible for consolidating all the technically movable equipment between the terminals in Klara and Årsta. This was managed in practice by shutting down the Klara terminal and moving most of the equipment to the Årsta postal terminal.
Longstanding supplier
Moving has kept up as a supplier the entire time. The fact is that Karl-Rudolf Pettersson had been cooperating with Moving for ten years before he started working for the Postal Administration.
"We're talking about a highly satisfactory, longstanding partnership," he says. "The reason is simple: their excellent products and the capability to make them function in practice. Combine this with the fact that Moving has the necessary technical expertise to handle major undertakings like those required for large customers such as the Postal Administration, and you have a picture of a reliable supplier."
Resources and competence
Karl-Rudolf Pettersson adds that Moving has its own large-scale resources, excellent subcontractors and the ability to get the assembly process to run smoothly.
"I have never had a feeling that I was in a fix, if we had engaged Moving. They have the resources and the technical competence for solving the problems that unavoidably arise in complex circumstances of this kind."
