Warehouse Management System
Moving WMS is a comprehensive system to administer and control the transport and storage of goods, both in manual and automatic warehouses. The system is based on modules, which can be easily configured and adapted for a specific plant.
Moving WMS covers the entire chain - from handling of goods arriving by lorry to the loading of goods onto lorries for dispatch. WMS can be used as a stand-alone solution or in interaction with a business system The functions used in an individual system depend on the parts WMS is to control, which in turn is determined by the division of responsibility between WMS and the business system. The responsibility of WMS at a plant can, for exemple, cover handling of load units that are placed on a line system until picking is done at a picking station or the load unit is collected on an outfeed line. In this case, functions such as shipping and loading are not used. In certain cases, WMS handles only the load units and not the goods in them. In these instances it is the business system that decides which goods will be picked for a specific order.
The Moving WMS concept is based on simplicity and handling in real time. An application based on standard modules can be adapted to all customer requirements.
