Pallet handling

The pallet is without question the most commonly used unit load. It was developed together with the fork-lift truck and became the basis for effective materials handling in all application areas.

Pallet high bay storage

The pallet is used in internal handling and storage as well as in transportation over long distances. EUR pallets have become standardised in Europe regarding measurements, materials and construction. As well as EUR pallets, there are a number of different special-purpose pallets both for repeated or once only usage.

The roller pallet or roller container has been developed for distribution purposes within the convenience store sector. The load space often corresponds to a half-pallet. There are also roller pallets in full-pallet format for certain high-volume goods such as potatoes and eggs.

The roller pallet should be easy to handle manually as well as simple to fold up. It is also used for the transport and distribution of mail and parcels. The roller pallet can be moved manually on a flat surface as well as by fork-lift truck. They are not stackable. In combination with rear lifts on trucks, the roller pallet has been able to enhance the efficiency of deliveries to stores with goods reception areas and loading bays of variable quality.

The loading sheet is an alternative to the pallet in the handling and transport of light and medium-weight goods. It consists of a thin sheet of board or plastic with turned up edges on one or more sides beyond the load area. The advantage is that the loading sheet takes up a small amount of space, which saves volume when goods are stacked in various types of transport. Loading sheets are loaded using special drag/push units that can be fitted to most types of truck.

The pallet container is usually a stackable container for solid or liquid-state goods. It can be handled in the same way as a pallet. It is used in sectors such as the chemical, food and engineering industries. The pallet container is generally made in metal or polymer material such as plastic. In environments with special hygiene requirements such as in the food industry and cured meat business, the pallet containers used are made in a dirt-repellent material that is easy to clean. In the engineering industry, collapsible pallet containers are used to save space.

Moving supplies equipment for the palletizing, depalletizing, transporting, storing and handling of pallets.

Various grades of complex handling systems for pallets have been supplied to sites that include central stores and production facilities in the food, engineering, paper, electro-mechanical and woodworking/furniture industries. The handling systems are composed of units from our conveyor system, MaxiMove. Types of unit include driven and undriven roller conveyors, chain conveyors, vertical conveyors, transfer units, turntables and transfer cars.

Control systems are in most cases a part of Moving's undertaking, as are on-site assembly and training of operating and service staff.
